Der Mai war überraschend leseintensiv – vor allem, wenn ich bedenke, dass ich mein Leben trotz der vielen Lesestunden nicht nur „normal“ auf die Reihe gekriegt habe, sondern auch ein paar extra Projekte erledigt bekommen habe. Dank einiger wirklich flüssig lesbaren eBooks bin ich (ohne Comics) auf insgesamt 6740 gelesene Seiten gekommen (mit Comics waren es 8804 Seiten Oo) und das ist eine wirklich unglaubliche Zahl. Aber ich hatte auch so viel Freude am Lesen, dass ich halt in jeder Minute, die nicht anders verplant war, zum Buch gegriffen habe.

Mal schauen, ob das im Mai so weitergeht. Aber da das jetzt zwei gute Lese-Monate in Folge waren, bezweifel ich das ein bisschen, denn normalerweise folgen nach so einer intensiven Lesephase ein paar Wochen, in denen ich lieber andere Dinge mache. Allerdings wäre es schön, wenn ich den SuB vor dem Sommer (wenn ich eigentlich nur eBooks lese) noch etwas abbauen könnte. Bislang hat es in diesem Jahr ganz gut geklappt, dass ich – trotz diverser Neuzugänge – jeden Monat eine etwas kleinere Anzahl an ungelesenen Büchern im Regel stehen hatte.

Im März habe ich überraschend viel und intensiv gelesen – nur nicht die Dinge, die ich mir eigentlich für den Monat vorgenommen hatte … Stattdessen habe ich ein paar – für mich neue – Autor*innen ausprobiert und mich überraschend gut amüsiert, obwohl ich kaum einen der gelesenen Romane als „gut“ bezeichnen würde. Aber diese Art von „Fast Food“-Lektüre war anscheinend genau das, was ich in den letzten Wochen gebraucht habe, auch wenn es dafür gesorgt hat, dass der SuB nicht weiter geschrumpft ist.

Ich hoffe trotzdem, dass ich mich im April wieder mehr meinem SuB widmen werde. Schließlich habe ich die in den letzten Monaten vom SuB gezogenen (älteren) Titel wirklich genossen und mich immer wieder gefragt, wieso ich diese Bücher eigentlich immer so lange liegen lasse. Mal schauen, was der Monat sonst so bringt. Ich habe keine großen Pläne oder Termine und kann so die kommenden Wochen einfach auf mich zukommen lassen.

Uhhh, der Februar war ein seltsamer (Lese-)Monat, in dem ich mich auf der einen Seite eigentlich nur auf dem Sofa einrollen wollte und auf der anderen Seite nicht genug Konzentration zum „richtigen“ Lesen hatte. Was bedeutet, dass ich (nach einer intensiven ersten Februarwoche mit der Hidden-Legacy-Reihe von Ilona Andrews) vor allem Leseproben, Kurzgeschichten und Manga gelesen habe. Was grundsätzlich okay wäre, wenn ich nicht gleichzeitig ständig das Gefühl gehabt hätte, dass ich doch eigentlich diesen oder jenen Roman gern lesen würde – nur um nach ein paar Seiten dann gar nicht mehr zu lesen. Ich habe erschreckend viel Zeit damit verbracht „nur noch fünf Minuten“ auf dem Sofa zu sitzen und gar nichts zu tun und das ist nicht gerade befriedigend gewesen.

Weshalb ich hoffe, dass der März ein bisschen besser läuft. Ich habe (bislang) bis zum Monatsende nur einen Termin in Aussicht und das lässt mir hoffentlich genügend Freizeit, um mich mal wieder etwas konzentrierter auf ein paar Projekte zu stürzen. Was ich im Februar sehr genossen habe, war meine Zeit mit Puzzle und Hörbuch – das sollte ich also definitiv weiter machen (vor allem, da mein aktuelles Hörbuch noch ein paar Stunden bis zum Ende hat). Ansonsten hoffe ich sehr, dass ich mich mal wieder genug konzentrieren kann, um ein paar Stunden am Stück zu lesen. Es liegen einfach noch zu viele gute Romane auf dem SuB, auf die ich mich wirklich freue.

Der Januar war ein wirklich seltsamer Monat für mich. Auf der einen Seite habe ich das kalte Wetter und den Frost beim Spazierengehen genossen, auf der anderen Seite mochte ich so gar nicht kommunizieren oder gar etwas mit anderen Menschen unternehmen (auch wenn ich natürlich trotzdem ab und an verabredet war). Eigentlich wollte ich mich nur noch mit der Nase im Buch in einer Ecke einrollen – was immerhin dazu geführt hat, dass ich wirklich viel Zeit mit Lesen verbracht habe. Was ich nicht nur als wohltuend empfinde, sondern was auch für einen kleinen SuB-Rückgang gesorgt hat.

Für den Februar habe ich keine nennenswerten Pläne. Allerdings hat mich ein YT-Video, das ich vor kurzem geschaut habe, auf die Idee gebracht, dass ich in diesem Jahr doch ein paar Bücher im englischen Original lesen könnte, die vor 100 Jahren zum ersten Mal veröffentlicht wurden und die ich bislang nur in der deutschen Übersetzung kenne. Mein größtes Problem dabei ist immer, dass es für mich gerade bei sehr produktiven Autor*innen schwierig ist, mich für eine Ausgabe zu entscheiden, weil ich immer denke, dass ich langfristig gern mehrere zusammenpassende Titel im Regal stehen hätte. Immerhin gibt es von so alten Büchern normalerweise eBook-Varianten, die keinen Euro kosten und die mir (erst einmal) die Entscheidung für eine Version abnehmen.

Ich wünsche euch allen ein frohes neues Jahr und hoffe, dass ihr einen guten Start in den heutigen Tag hattet! Das vergangene Jahr war für mich voller Höhen und Tiefen und das hat sich natürlich auch im Blog widergespiegelt, aber insgesamt würde ich sagen, dass 2025 okay war. Was mich eben angenehm überraschte, ist die Tatsache, dass ich (obwohl ich den Großteil meiner Geburtstags- und Weihnachtsgeschenke noch nicht gelesen habe) mit einem etwas kleineren SuB in dieses Jahr starte. Mal schauen, ob das so weitergeht …

Ich bin auf jeden Fall fest entschlossen mich mehr meinen älteren Büchern auf dem SuB zu widmen. Auch wenn das in den vergangenen Monaten regelmäßig dazu geführt hat, dass ich nach dem Lesen eines solchen älteren Titels noch die dazugehörigen Reihenfortsetzungen oder weitere Romane von der selben Person gekauft habe. *g* Außerdem wäre es schön, wenn ich mal wieder mehr Sachbücher lesen würde. 2025 waren es gerade mal fünf Stück, was angesichts meines Sachbuch-SuBs nicht gerade viel ist – und ja, auch in diesem Jahr nehme ich mir vor mal endlich meinen Sachbuch-Bestand durchzusortieren und endlich eine aktuelle SuB-Liste dafür anzulegen. Ich bin gespannt, ob ich das in den kommenden Monaten auf die Reihe bekomme.

SuB-Gedanken

Als ich klein war, bestand mein „SuB“ (Stapel ungelesener Bücher) aus den Büchern, die ich für die Woche aus der Bibliothek ausgeliehen hatte. Das war dann auch wirklich ein Stapel, der neben meinem Bett auf dem Fußboden stand, damit ich nach dem Beenden einer Geschichte gleich zur nächsten greifen konnte. Doch inzwischen sind einige Jahrzehnte vergangen, das Angebot an für mich interessanten Büchern ist so viel größer geworden und statt ein einzigen kostbaren Kinderbuchs zu Geburtstag und Weihnachten geschenkt zu bekommen, reicht mein Buchetat für den Kauf von mehrere Titel pro Monat (und ja, auch zu Geburtstag und Weihnachten gibt es von meinen Lieben mehrere Bücher vom Wunschzettel).

In den letzten Jahren ist mein SuB deshalb so groß geworden, dass die Lagerung in Stapeln schon lange nicht mehr reicht, also habe ich erst ein Regalbrett und am Ende den Großteil eines Buchregals dafür freigemacht. Nicht, dass das Verhindern würde, dass trotzdem noch überall in der Wohnung Buchstapel zu finden sind. Allein vom Sofa aus, kann ich gerade fünf Stapel sehen – auch wenn nicht alle davon aus ungelesenen Bücher bestehen. Da gibt es auch noch den Stapel mit Titeln, die ich noch besprechen will, und den Stapel mit Romanen, die nach Genre und Alphabet sortiert, weggeräumt werden müssen.

Grundsätzlich finde ich es schön, dass mein „SuB“ inzwischen so umfangreich ist, dass er keinen übersichtlichen Stapel mehr bildet, und ich finde es großartig, wenn er mit genügend Auswahl für jede Lesestimmung bietet. Trotzdem kommt jetzt natürlich noch ein „Aber“, denn ich habe das Gefühl, dass ich den Überblick verloren habe – was auch daran liegt, dass das SuB-Regal nicht für alle Formate geeignet (und viel zu voll) ist. Außerdem habe ich gemerkt, dass ich dazu neige meine Suche nach dem nächsten Buch auf die ersten drei Regalbretter zu beschränken, weil die nun mal auf Augenhöhe sind und ich dort in der Regel schon einen Titel finde, den ich anfangen mag. Um das ein bisschen zu ändern, habe ich in diesem Jahr versucht mich gezielter durchs Alphabet zu lesen, und hab dabei ein paar wirklich gute Bücher vom SuB gezogen.

Dabei ist mir wiederum aufgefallen, dass ich so gar kein Gefühl mehr dafür habe, wie lange ein Buch schon auf dem SuB liegt. Mir ist durchaus bewusst, dass ich dazu neige zu Neuanschaffungen zu greifen. Was einerseits gut ist, denn die möchte ich ja schon zeitnah lesen, was andererseits aber auch dazu führt, dass manche Bücher so lange auf dem SuB liegen, dass ich mich nicht mehr daran erinnern kann, wieso ich die eigentlich lesen wollte …

Also habe ich mir Anfang dieser Woche die Mühe gemacht und meine SuB-Liste mal nach Anschaffungsdatum sortiert. Wobei ich erst seit 2021 eine Jahresübersicht in einer Tabelle führe und deshalb alle früheren Neuzugänge einfach in die Kategorie „vor 2021“ gestopft habe. Tja, und diese Kategorie beinhaltete dann 80 von 152 Büchern und dass über 50% meines SuBs mehr als fünf Jahre alt sind, fand ich dann schon erschreckend. Ein paar dieser Romane habe ich mir bewusst aufgehoben, weil sie von Autor*innen sind, die schon verstorben sind oder nur noch sehr, sehr wenige Titel veröffentlichen. Aber selbst bei diesen Büchern habe ich das Gefühl, dass es so langsam Zeit wird sie zu lesen.

Im kommenden Jahr werde ich also nicht nur versuchen meine Neuzugänge zeitnah zu lesen, sondern auch mehr alte Titel vom SuB ziehen. Ich hoffe nur, dass das dann nicht zu dem gleichen Ergebnis wie in diesem Jahr führt, wo ich nach dem Lesen einiger älterer SuB-Titel prompt lauter Fortsetzungen auf die Wunschliste setzen musste, damit ich die endlich angefangenen Reihen bald weiterlesen kann. 😉

Nur noch 31 Tage und schon fängt ein neues Jahr an … Ich war eigentlich davon ausgegangen, dass ich im November nicht viel lesen würde, weil ich verreist war – doch stattdessen habe ich 13 Romane (und insgesamt über 6000 Seiten) gelesen. Allerdings habe ich nur relativ wenig von dem gelesen, was ich ursprünglich vor hatte. Besonders geschickt war es von mir, dass ich am 25. einen Beitrag veröffentlichte mit den Titeln, die ich in diesem Jahr noch lesen will, und dann prompt eine Leseprobe von „Beware of Chicken“ las. Was natürlich dazu führte, dass ich jetzt „nur eben“ die fünf Bände der Reihe lesen muss, bevor ich zu einem anderen Buch greifen kann. 😉 Ansonsten bin ich ziemlich überrascht davon, dass ich trotz einiger buchiger Geburtstagsgeschenke nur einen übersichtlichen SuB-Zuwachs zu verzeichnen habe.

Was bedeutet, dass ich im Dezember vielleicht wirklich eine Chance habe zu den elf Bücher zu greifen, die ich in diesem Jahr angeschafft und noch nicht gelesen habe. Ich freu mich gerade sehr auf diese letzten Wochen des Jahres und hoffe, dass ich in der Zeit noch entspannt ein paar Projekte zu Ende bringen und viel Zeit mit meinen Büchern verbringen kann.

Ich muss gerade ein bisschen schmunzeln, weil ich sah, was ich mir für Oktober vorgenommen hatte. Ich wollte ein paar meiner angefangenen Bücher beenden (was ich nicht gemacht habe), ich wollte die drei ausstehenden Rezensionen noch schreiben (was ich natürlich nicht getan habe und inzwischen sind es deutlich mehr Bücher, die ich noch besprechen will) und ich wollte eins meiner neuen Sachbücher lesen. Nun, das habe ich mit „The Barbizon“ immerhin geschafft! Außerdem hatte ich einen Haufen Termine inklusive einer Zahn-OP und habe trotzdem – dank der Herbstlesen-Wochenenden und „Penric & Desdemona“ – einen Haufen Bücher gelesen. Alles in allem ein anstrengender, aber auch sehr befriedigender Monat. Ich wäre jetzt trotzdem bereit für eine Auszeit oder zumindest für ein paar Wochen mit langweiligem Alltag.

Vorher fahre ich aber noch ein paar Tage zu meiner Mutter (und ich kann inzwischen nicht mehr sagen, wie viele „Zugbindung aufgehoben“-/“Abfahrtzeiten geändert“-Mails die Bahn mir in den letzten Wochen schon geschickt hat), was sich natürlich auch auf meine Lesezeit auswirken wird. Trotzdem hoffe ich, dass ich nach meiner Rückkehr wieder genug Zeit zum Lesen finden werde, um den SuB noch ein bisschen zu verkleinern, bevor es zum Jahresende höchst wahrscheinlich einige Buchgeschenke für mich geben wird. Fest vorgenommen habe ich mir wieder eins meiner in diesem Jahr neu angeschafften Sachbücher zu lesen – und wer weiß, vielleicht schaffe ich ja sogar irgendwann noch die Rezensionen zu schreiben, die ich eigentlich gern noch veröffentlichen würde. *g*

Der September brachte weniger Lesezeit, als ich mir gewünscht hätte, aber das ist ja häufig so. Immerhin habe ich es – trotz ein paar Neuzugänge – geschafft, meinen SuB ein bisschen zu reduzieren. Genau genommen habe ich den Belletristik-SuB reduziert, während mein Sachbuchbestand weiter wächst (und ich immer noch keine vollständige Liste auf die Reihe bekommen habe). Außerdem habe ich – dank der gemeinsamen Aktion mit Neyasha – meinen „noch rezensieren“-Stapel deutlich reduziert, was sich überraschend gut anfühlt.

Für den Oktober nehme ich mir vor, dass ich nicht nur für die letzten drei noch zu besprechenden Titel Beiträge schreiben, sondern auch mal all die angelesenen Bücher angehe, die sich in den letzten Wochen angesammelt haben. So viele Romane, die mir eigentlich gut gefallen haben, die aber dann für einen anderen Titel zur Seite gelegt wurden … Außerdem wäre es nett, wenn ich bis zum Jahresende die drei noch ungelesenen Sachbücher, die ich mir 2025 gekauft habe, noch lesen würde – was bedeutet, dass ich damit in den nächsten Tagen auch mal anfangen sollte.

Mit dem September ist meine Blog-Sommerpause vorbei und somit wird es Zeit für einen aktuellen SuB-Beitrag zum Monatsanfang. Der Juli war in diesem Jahr überraschend angenehm und zum Teil konnten wir nachts (mit laufendem Ventilator!) sogar bei geschlossenen Fenstern schlafen, was meine grundsätzliche sommerliche Übermüdung – dank nächtlichem Lärm – in Grenzen hilt. Insgesamt war ich sehr dankbar für das normale Sommerwetter und den Mangel an Hitzewellen in diesem Sommer und habe das für so einige Lesestunden genutzt. Insgesamt waren es im Juli 16 (nicht sooo lange) Romane, 2 Kurzgeschichten, 1 Hörbuch und 3 Manga, die ich gelesen bzw. gehört habe.

Der August brachte dann deutlich heißere Tage, an denen ich oft nicht mehr auf die Reihe brachte, als mit dem eReader in der Hand darauf zu warten, dass es endlich dunkel und kühler wird. Was immerhin dafür gesorgt hat, dass ich weiterhin viel gelesen habe – auch wenn das kaum Auswirkungen auf meinen SuB hatte, weil das zum Großteil neu gekaufte eBooks waren. Insgesamt habe ich 18 Romane, 1 kurzes Hörbuch und 3 Manga gelesen und aufgrund der Länge der Romane mit 7347 Seiten locker meine „Wohlfühlseitenzahl“ geknackt.

Ich bin gespannt, wie es im September mit meinem Lesen weitergeht. Normalerweise bedeuten längere Nächte (und kühlere Tagestemperaturen), dass ich einige Sachen in Angriff nehmen kann, die in den letzten zwei Monaten liegengeblieben sind. Was aber natürlich auch dafür sorgt, dass ich weniger Zeit zum Lesen habe, als in den vergangenen Wochen. Ich hoffe trotzdem, dass ich endlich mal wieder zu einem Sachbuch greifen werde. Außerdem versuche ich weiterhin nicht nur die Neuzugänge des Jahres aufzulesen, sondern auch ein paar ältere Titel vom SuB zu fischen. Egal, ob das klappt oder nicht, ich kann auf jeden Fall sagen, dass ich gerade viel Spaß beim Lesen habe!
